Dr. Patrick Heeger

Dr. Patrick Heeger has been working as a patent attorney candidate at MFG Patentanwälte since April 2021, in particular in the fields of optics, network and mobile technology, user interfaces, semiconductor technology, and automotive technology.
Dr. Patrick Heeger studied biology at the Technical University of Braunschweig and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. He then studied biomedicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated with a Master of Science. During his master’s studies, he focused on biomedical optics, in particular lasers in biomedical applications.
In his following Doctorate at the Institute of Quantum Optics at Leibniz University Hannover, he did research on an optogenetic method to study interneural communication between spiral ganglion neurons from the cochlea and neurons from other functional units, such as the brain, to provide the basis for a light-based biohybrid cochlear implant.
Prior to joining MFG, Dr. Patrick Heeger worked, among other positions, as a research associate at the Department of Physics at Leibniz University in Hannover, Germany. In addition, he was able to gain experience in entrepreneurial activities as the CEO of his start-up.
