Phi Nguyen-Thien is a German Patent Attorney as well as a European Patent, Trademark, and Design Attorney.

He has been working at MFG Patent Attorneys since August 2018 and has extensive experience in grant, opposition, and appeal proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office, as well as in patent infringement and nullity proceedings before German courts.

His areas of expertise include mechanical engineering, automotive technology, medical technology, information technology, and network security.

Mr. Nguyen-Thien studied “Mechanical Engineering and Management” at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and specialized in plastic technology and medical technology. As part of his diploma thesis, he was involved in a research project on electromobility at the Campus of Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) in Singapore. There he dealt with manufacturing processes for structural CFRP automotive components. Subsequently, he worked as an Associate Consultant in a technology consulting firm, where he acquired knowledge in quality assurance as well as in software development processes in the automotive sector.
